چکیده

Wireless USB (WUSB) is the USB technology merged with WiMedia PHY/MAC. WUSB can be applied to WPAN applications as well as PAN applications like wired USB. However the current WUSB protocol can’t provide resource allocation scheme to respond to changes of available resource as well as resource allocation scheme for saturated wireless channel. This problem causes the critical problems in QoS provisioning to multimedia streams, since multimedia application generate high data rates and can easily saturate the bandwidth even at the rates provided by UWB transmissions. Therefore, we propose resource allocation scheme to respond to changes of available resource as well as resource allocation scheme for saturated WUSB channel.

A Resource Management Mechanism of WBAN for Wireless USB Support

In this paper, an IEEE 802.15.6 wireless body area networks (WBAN) medium access control protocol is developed to support a wireless USB (WUSB) application as a protocol adaptation layer (PAL). However, current WBAN protocol still does not have well-defined QoS mapping and resource allocation mechanisms to support multimedia streams with requested QoS parameters. To solve this problem, we propo...

ارزیابی سیاست‌های زمان‌بندی در نسل چهارم شبکه‌های سلولی (LTE)

New generation of wireless networks, LTE and WiMAX, supports many services which consume a lot of resources (such as VOIP, Video Conference, Digital Video, Multimedia streams and online Multi-player Games). Supporting multi-media services in wireless communication systems provide new resource allocation challenges. Because of high loads in downlink, efficient resource allocation is vital in dow...

A Modified MAC Behaviour for Multimedia Traffic in Wireless LAN for QoS Provisioning

IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) developed as a simple and cost-effective wireless technology for best effort services, IEEE 802.11 has gained popularity at an unprecedented rate. However, it lacks of the capability to support Quality of Services (QoS) such as multimedia and real-time traffic properly. This paper presents a simple approach to enhance the multimedia real-time performance over the...

Soft-qos Provisioning Using the Token Bank Fair Queueing Scheduling Algorithm

Future generation wireless packet networks will support multimedia applications with diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. Much of the research on scheduling algorithms has been focused on hard QoS provisioning of integrated services. Although these algorithms give hard delay bounds, their stringent requirements sacrifice the potential statistical multiplexing performance and flexibili...

H.510 Protocol and HMAL Filter to Support H.323 Multimedia Services in UMTS Networks

Third Generation Mobile Systems (3G) are required to support Multimedia applications with high Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. QoS provisioning is, therefore, a major issue in both third Generation wireless networks and packet based multimedia systems such as H.323-based systems. In this paper we describe the appropriate architecture that enables an H.323 User to get access to H.323 base...
